September 2008 Arts!Arcata September show at Arcata Exchange ended on a positive note. Sold one painting, made many contacts and future patrons. May be auctioning a piece at the Emma House benefit November 7th.

October 2008 – Meridian Gallery is exhibiting the Accident Gallery group show at Umqua Bank on the mezzanine.

The Man Show should prove interesting. Man as our muse.
The Self Portrait Show – well, I did a body press , a la Yves Klein. Digitally shot a pic of myself, used that picture to paint face. All this on butcher paper.

I am pleased to be showing with Jesse Corning and Joan Gold [think this is a first local showing for her]. Both are nationally recognized.

Thirty-four artists, 200 works. As a fundraiser, it was a success. No sales on my end, but great chat-up from many people. Established artists and newcomers (the young ones). Probably their first |real| show. It was a pleasure to watch their excitment. enthusiasm and entouranges.

Next up, three shows in May. One, self portrait – Accident Gallery; two, abstracts – Art of Wine; and three, the Man Show [women and their males muses] – C Street Hall Gallery. All in Eureka, California.

34 women, 300 works

Heads up art fiends. Tomorrow, April 19, 2008, 3-8pm down in Redway Cali, 34 women will be exhibiting their fine art and sculpture at the Mateel Community Center, in the rain, rumor has it.

Whitethorn, Briceland, Elk Prairie and Riverbend Cellars will be pouring wine with music provided by Michael Curran |the late shift| and Folk of Thorne earlier.

Hors d’ourves will be served. Admission of $25 will include wine and food.

Now that I have an art-related web site, I need an art-related blog, I’m told. So, here I am. Once all the fine tuning is completed, I will post url. Thank you Linda Wise [liink listed]. The web…the wave of the future for artists? Self marketing ourselves…the brave new world. Gallery representation is equally important. Be aware of Artists Space for another way out into the universe.
